STATE AND LOCAL PROJECTS

  • CAMP SUPERKIDS Original organizer and director of Camp Superkids. A camp for asthmatic children here in Nebraska. Over 100 children attend this camp each year. This camp is administrated through The Lung Association of Nebraska
  • FAMILY ASTHMA EDUCATION PROGRAM Melvin Hoffman, M.D., and I organized this educational program for children with asthma and their parents. The program consists of four two-hour sessions discussing the pathophysiology and management of asthma. It is a free service provided through The Lung Association of Nebraska. We do two programs in Lincoln each year, plus three to six programs in other communities throughout Nebraska, eastern Iowa, and northern Kansas
  • NEBRASKA ALLERGY SOCIETY Organizer and charter member. Served as President in 1984-1985
  • POLLEN AND MOLD COUNTS FOR LINCOLN, NEBRASKA Michael Sullivan, III, M.D., Melvin Hoffman, M.D., and I secured a research grant to train and support research fellows at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Pollen counts are done five days each week and mold counts two days each week from March through October
